GLORIA (aka IRIS)

Composer:    traditional French carol;
arranged by Edward S. Barnes, 1885-1958, in The New Church Hymnal, 1937.
Note:    There are two variations in the melody of this tune.  The setting typically used with
Angels We Have Heard on High has non-melismatic verses, while the tune used with
Angels from the Realms of Glory has melismatic verses and is often called IRIS
rather than GLORIA.  The same harmonization can be used for both.
